What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is treatment used to improve skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to the skin on any area of the body to lower the PH which loosens the glue like connections between dead skin cells inducing exfoliation and cell regeneration.
At BooshTOX, we will customise your program of treatments to target your specific skin concerns whether it be ageing, rosacea, hyper-pigmentation or acne, followed by prescriptive target serums, which reveal a more radiant, soft and luminous skin.
AlumierMD peels can be patchworked for a truly bespoke treatment.
Alumier bespoke treatments take 30 - 60 mins cost from £75. Our superficial and medium depth peels are performed by our experienced therapist, Serenna. Deeper medical grade peels are available with Dr Booshan. A course of treatments may be recommended - available with a discount when paid in advance.
Will Alumier MD Peels Cause Unsightly Redness & Peeling?
Post-treatment peeling is often similar to peeling after a tan. In some cases, exfoliation occurs on a cellular level and is not apparent to the naked eye. The exfoliation you will experience varies depending on skin profile. AlumierMD chemical peels are light- to medium depth, and are formulated to reduce irritation and redness.
What Are The Different Types Of Chemical Peel - Is This Right For Me?
Chemical peels are classified as light (superficial), medium, or deep, depending on the depth of penetration of the ingredients used. Light peels exfoliate to various levels of the epidermis. Medium-depth peels treat through the papillary dermis and deep peels to the mid-reticular dermis. Deeper peels require more downtime and increase the chance of side effects, which include photosensitivity, pigment changes and scarring. Alumier peels are LIGHT peels and are fine for all skin types, even sensitive skins (although there are some contraindications which can be discussed with us)
What Can I Expect Straight After My Peel?
The skin is initially tender and more sun-sensitive as the epidermis renews itself. After the peeling takes its course (usually 3-5 days after treatment), fresh new skin emerges and ingredients in homecare products start to work more effectively. Typically, you will be comfortable enough to continue your day and week as normal.
Can I Have More Than Just My Face Peeled?
Chemical peels are usually performed on the face, neck, décolleté and hands.
